| Here's a semi serious answer. Even with top notch production value, I don't think that Chainsaw Man's first episode will have a hook as strong as Death Note or AoT. Heck, I think even the narrative of Tokyo Ghoul kicked off more compellingly. In the online animanga community it's the most anticipated and hyped up release, I will give it that, but it's also a more of a meme than a series. |

| Overhyping a series before itโs release for those who are interested (and have not read the manga) is not cool honestly. One step away of removing it from my list at this pace because if I watch it, I have a feeling Iโll be disappointed. |

| I mean it ain't no pilot episode of Breaking Bad so *shrugs* The first episode doesn't really do the show justice. It needs some more episodes to flesh out its cast members, story, and world building. I usually want to see them build up to greatness gradually. |

| first off the first chapter actually starts out really slow and typical for a shonen series. Something like To your eternity will still continue to have one of the best first episodes of any anime I have watched. |

| i would be genuinely surprised if it's the best first episode. right now I think the best first episode I have seen is from the promised neverland, And even with all this hype, I genuinely can't see this even being close. it might be with A tiers like one punch man and attack on titan at best. |
