So a few days ago I started posting a daily msg with some updates of what is important for that day. What do you think of it? Should we keep doing it or stop?

What about the joke or fact of the day? Good or bad?

Also, in case you didn't know you can dismiss it by clicking the X in the right-hand corner.

Any feedback of what you'd like to see there please let me know.

In case you aren't sure what I'm referring to I mean

Keep doing it but not everyday.

It is a useful tool to inform members of important goings on with/on the site. Just don’t over use it as members will stop taking notice. If there is a message displayed, it should inform of something important, not “Happy Tuesday” and a joke. On other sites I normally just automatically close the message without reading, if they start doing the latter.

I’m not saying you can’t have a joke or share a fact, but it should not be the primary purpose of the message.

It's usually the first thing I see when I log in so it's useful if there's something you particularly want to draw our attention to.
I voted for the first option but, like ronin001, I don't want you to feel you need to put something new there every day.

The daily message concept is good, but the ad replaces it before I can read the first two or three words, and I'm a pretty quick reader. Then the ad stays up for too long and the message doesn't come back for long enough before the ad pops up again.

That's my experience with the broadcast message so far.
